When Everly was about 8 months old I was in search of a Crocheted pixie hat, so of course I let all my Instagram friends know.  And because I have the best Instagram friends in the world, they were quick to share with me where I could purchase one.  A friend of mine, tagged Danette from DJ's Handsies and I instantly fell in love with her work.  At the time she was currently only making items for family and friends and I got the ultimate pleasure of being her very first CUSTOMER!  Danette was very on top of her game and was super amazing to work with.  She asked me all the details of what I wanted and before I knew it, I got the hat of my dreams for Everly and it kept her little head warm all winter long!  (She was so adorable in it, and we got compliments on the hat all the time!)

Going back and forth with the details and specifics of what I wanted for the hat I formed a very sweet friendship with Danette and I am lucky to know this lovely mama!  I have been following her Instagram and following her work for a little over a year now and it has been such a joy to watch her business flourish!  Danette seriously makes some of the most beautiful work I've ever seen!

Recently I had a special request of Danette.  I was dying to get my hands on one of her Crotchet animal faces, but wanted to do something a little different than a dress.  I am in love with rompers (it's a little obsession of mine!) so I asked Danette if she could make a romper for Everly.  I also had not seen a cub or bear in her selection yet and because we are Urban CUB, I obviously needed a cub.  ;)  I am so happy with the completed outfit!!!  

Seriously...  I'm dying!!!

Easter Outfits >> For Ev & Si

If you know me by now, you know I love a reason for a good splurge.  Easter outfits have always been something special for us when growing up, so we decided we would keep with the tradition and pick out new outfits for the special day for ourselves and the littles.  I wanted to go with whites and yellows this year, and since I love coordinating Everly and Silas' outfits every other day of the year, why not for Easter outfits too?

And guys!  This will be Silas' first Easter!  I can't believe that this will pretty much be the last holiday we will celebrate as a first for him and then he will be ONE!  ONE!!!  They don't joke when they say it goes 10x faster with baby number 2...  (sob fest...)

Valentine's Day Round Up >> For the Littles

Today I did a little round-up of some of my favorite Valentine's Day items for the littles, well, because, Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays.  You probably think I say that about every holiday, but for real...  This is my second favorite holiday on the calendar.  There are many reasons why this holiday is so special to me.  I think the main reason is because I love hearts.  I'm a sucker for anything heart shaped or with a heart print on it.  I also am a really lovey and affectionate person and I feel like this holiday puts (most) people in a good lovey dovey mood.  I guess what could really put the icing on the cake, is that the 14th is also my birthday.  ;)

Leather >> 3 Ways

Leather is huge this season.  Whether you have always loved leather or are just recently tapping into the leather trend, I have chosen three leather fashion basic outfits that are fashion forward and will add a little bit of edge to those looks that are falling flat.

For myself, I am one of the newbies!  I'm just recently finding that leather is just as amazing in clothing, as it is on accessories.  I have found that you can dress it up or dress it down - you can create outfits that fit your every day wear, or you can create outfits that are bold and tasty.  These are the three ways I chose to dress my leather pants.  You can have so much fun with leather and it can elevate everything else you are wearing.  Win/Win!

I wanted to share a "cheaper" style of leather, a dressed up version with a pop of color, and then the "real deal" leather.  If you can't afford a real pair of leather pants, then go with the imitation/faux leather.  Either way, I feel like a pair of leather pants is a must-have in any wardrobe and I know each and everyone of you can rock them!

We were pretty pumped when we happened upon the stunning brand; Anarkid.  And of course we were psyched when we got our hands on one of their delicious onesies.  The graphic designs, structure and simplicity behind this brand is one-of-a-kind.  I feel like there is so much more to this onesie than just a onesie...  For one, when Silas wears his, I know he's wearing the best.  The comfort and softness of the material is delectable.  For two, I have to chuckle every time I read "milk addict", because I can't think of anything this little guy likes to do more than eat!  And for three, it just completes any outfit.  Even though onesies can be worn under items, this is just too good to cover up, so when Silas wears his, I create a way to make it pop and become the staple piece of his outfit.

We partnered up with such a sweet little shop this month - Never Grow Up.  We discovered them on Instagram and I really enjoy following their feed for outfit inspirations for my littles.  It was actually via their IG feed that I came across the lovely brand, Mon Marcel.  Mon Marcel creates the most beautiful knits using only the finest natural products and they are SO SOFT!  Silas' cardigan and leggings(pictured above and below) are both Mon Marcel and both have cashmere in the materials!  You can find both items at Never Grow Up, along with lots of other cutesy items!

I recently shared my favorite winter booties for Silas, because as we are going through this "socks must come off" stage, it's important for us to find items that stay on and keep those little piggies warm!  So these sweet footed-leggings have become a staple piece in Silas' wardrobe as of late.  Actually the cardigan has too!  It goes with everything...  You can dress it up or dress it down and it's such a soft, thick layer that you could even substitute as a coat, which we have done a lot already!  Never Grow Up has these leggings in multiple colors and the cardigan in blue and cream.  (Word is they are going fast, so if you want them, run!)

Silas also turned 5 months over the holiday's and I just have to document this month, because it's been a month full of FIRSTS for my sweet little big boy!  Silas has learned to roll over from back to stomach, sit up(mostly by himself), and he found his sweet little piggies!  We recently had a doctor visit due to Silas' (also first) sickness and he weighed in at a whopping 17lbs 11ozs!  It's crazy how much weight a baby can pack on just from nursing!  And I thought Everly was a chunker?...

SNOW >> And Firsts

Our first snow was something so special for both kids.  This year was the first year Everly actually understood what it was and how fun it is to play in.  And this was Silas' first experience ever to the white fluffy stuff.  Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of winter, but when there is snow on the ground, there is just something special in the air.  Plus, it automatically puts a smile on my face when I see my daughter smile...and snow makes her super giddy...I wish I could have caught the whole thing on video.
