Top 6 >> Winter Baby Booties

It's important to keep those little toes warm - especially when it's negative degrees out, like it has been here this weekend!  It's inevitable that we will be out and about in the cold, since I can't stand being cooped up for too long.  Winter's are a lot more fun when you are bundled up and warm and I try to always make sure both Silas and Everly are exactly that.  We don't leave the house without hats, gloves, scarves and something to keep our piggies warm.  I did a little round-up of my go-to booties for Silas, because I know it's hard to find that "perfect winter bootie" for babies under the age of 1.  They aren't walking yet, so soft soles are preferred, but you need to find something that STAYS ON their feet!  Which is funny, because Silas just hit the stage of pulling off his socks and his feet are always in his hands and mouth!  So this list is Silas-proofed... ;)

one - This was my first baby shoe purchase for Silas.  Minnetonka's are a staple in both my kids closets and they go with everything!  I love how versatile they are!

two - We LOVE our Padraig Cottage slippers!  These slippers are a must-have if you get really cold winters.  Or if you just want to have the cutest baby slippers ever!

three - Everly has a pair of Ugg boots, so I had to get a pair for Silas since I'm always trying to coordinate their outfits and I am happy I did.  These one's stay on his feet good and I love how they look with his skinny jeans.

four - These Zutano bootie slippers are amazing.  I love how easy they are to slip on Silas' feet and they have an elastic band around the heel to make sure they don't come off.  Again, another must-have!

five - These Ralph Lauren booties are so cute!  I love the chunky look and how incredibly plush they are.

six - I actually don't have these EMU boots for Silas...YET!  But they are on my "wish list".  Everly had a pair of EMU boots last season and I loved them.  I love their "little creatures" line, they are super cute and fun for the little feet.  You can view most of them here and here!

Boys Plaid >> On Girls

Do you ever say to yourself, "I wish I had a boy, so I could wear that on him?"  Well I used to say that all the time...then along came Silas.  But even with a little boy, I still fall for things all the time in the boys section that I would love to wear on Everly.  I always think to myself, "can she pull this off?"  Well the answer is, yes, she can!  I'm loving plaid and flannel this season, but i'm having a really hard time finding plaid "for girls", for some reason they only make plaid tops for boys?  Or at least it seems to only be sold in the boys sections.  So I decided to put together a few styles to give us a little inspiration on how "boys plaid" can be worn on your girl.  So, next time you see that plaid top in the boys section...Grab it, because girls can totally rock plaid!

Here are three ways I would style Everly in boys plaid tops:

outfit one:  hat // plaid top // skirt // tights // boots

outfit two:  vest // plaid top // bracelet // leggings // boot moccs

outfit three:  hat // jean jacket // plaid top // scarf // corduroy pants // shoes

And to give even a little bit more inspiration.  We wanted to share how our cutie girls are rocking boys plaid.  (Everly's top was purchased at Carter's in the boys section and Scarlett's top is a hand-me-down from her cousin.)

Feeling inspired and want to share your little ones in their plaid(boys can be included!)?  We would love it!  If you are on Instagram, tag us @urbancub or hashtag #UCootd

Get Cozy >> This Fall

get cozy this fall with a few of my favorites:

1//  wrap yourself and get cozy in this throw!  oh, and this is my absolute favorite fall color.
2//  grab a book, kick your legs up, and get cozy next to this amazing scented barr-co candle, mmmm.... it smells like oatmeal and vanilla.
3//  getting cozy boot socks is a must for fall!  no one wants to be wearing socks that you have to pull up every two seconds or that itch.  these boden socks are so comfy and soft.  take my word and grab some for yourself, the only downside is they need them in more colors and prints.
4//  i'm so in love with this scarf and it's currently on my wish list!  click on the link and check out how cozy and awesome it looks on.
5//  everyone needs a comfy cozy pair of slippers and this minnetonka chrissy bootie is totally the way to go.
6//  chunky knit beanies might be extremely cute on kids, but grab one for yourself this season, because they look pretty rad on mama's too!  get cozy with this knit slouch beanie that comes in various awesome colors!
7//  everyone needs some cozy cashmere in their closet and this poncho is the way to go!  grey goes well with pretty much anything and it's on sale right now!!  can't beat it!
8//  cozy can also come in the form of a card game, staying in for the night, in your pj's.  dutch blitz is my favorite card game by the way, in case you were wondering ;)
9//  cute and cozy pair of yoyogi park gloves for a night out on the town.
10//  my favorite way to get cozy, is a nice hot bath with burtsbees therapeutic bath crystals.  these are some of my favorite bath crystals(and take it from a bath-takin-junkie!)   i actually feel incredibly refreshed and relaxed after a bath with these and I love the smell.

so tell me, how are you "gettin' cozy" this fall?
