Featuring >> Mawdsley Loves

Bonnie contacted us about a collaboration with her a few months back and sent over a couple images with some samples of the Spring items she was creating. We fell in love with her sweet moccasins, and new tees so we decided that it would be a good match for us.

Bonnie is a very sweet and dedicated mama. She created this brand because of the love she has for her son and finding functional and fashionable accessories for him. She creates them all by hand making sure each item is nothing less than perfect for her own son, before she sends out.

I love this excerpt from her website:

Mawdsley [mods-lee] noun -
name of Anglo-saxon origin
name of the place where my hubby and I first met
middle name of my first born
Loves [luhvs] verb - a feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection towards a person, place or thing
ALL THINGS that my Mawdsley Loves

MawdsleyLoves [mods-lee-luhvs] noun

Bonnie is a sweet lady who loves children's fashion. It was a pleasure to work with her, and look forward to a giveaway with something from Mawdsley Loves coming in the future.

So, needless to say, once we got our items in the mail we both got excited to let the kids wear them this Spring.

We waited for the perfect evening to wear ours out. We even included one of the bibs that we received on Scarlett's doll. Scarlett loved it on her!

"Scarlett, do you love your shoes?!?"
(pretty sure this means yes!)

Scarlett >> Lately

This past Winter was long, as i'm sure most of you experienced, so we had to come up with a lot of things to do around the house to keep busy. One thing Scarlett started is looking out the window, around the time everyone starts coming home for the day, and she just watches the cars drive by.

She gets so excited about the silliest things. If she sees a car that looks like mine or her daddy's she squeals. Or if a motorcycle, her favorite, comes by she tells you about it for the following thirty minutes. Making 'vroooom, vroooom' sounds and saying "da-da" or "pa" (her daddy and grandpa both have motorcycles). She also tells you about their helmets, while tapping her head repeatedly. She has become very very vocal, and tries really hard to tell a story.

She also LOVES animals. So anytime that someone is walking their dog, it is a huge deal. She points that little finger and makes the 'woof' sound with her cute little voice. I love it. She is in complete awe of things, and it makes me just love her even more (if that is even possible).

I got a chance to catch her this weekend, while the cars were coming in keeping her attention, to snap a few pictures. These are the moments that I am grateful that I get to capture because it is something that she loves so much right now.I never want to forget the look in her eyes of pure curiosity, or that tiny little squeal that she lets out. Or even the little sounds that she makes when she is telling me all about what is going on outside.

Her daddy (whose "chair" this is) says that he and Scarlett are the 'neighborhood watch'. Ha! They could just sit and look out the window all day. Such good moments to be cherished and happy that I get to share them with you all today!

||she knows that she is cute||

||I had to share this one with you! This face! haha!||

Have you seen the new SS14 collection from Winter Water Facotry? They always, always, have the best prints with the cutest fitting clothing.
Their dresses have been a must in Scarlett's closet since she was born. They have awesome rompers, and leggings too!

Scarlett is wearing the Rocking Horse baby dress in Anchors Red which you can find here
If you have never tried Winter Water Factory (WWF) then trust me, you need to!
They are certified organic and made right here in the USA!

I want to thank Tiffany for sending this awesome dress to Scarlett. We seriously love it, and we will be wearing it quite a bit this summer! Thank you so much!

Hope you all have a fabulous Monday, with a great start to the week!

10 Things >> About Me

1*
I wish for a house with all white everything, but when it comes down to it I know my eccentric side will come out and there will be color everywhere!
2*
I am a tad bit OCD, but not about normal things. I'm the only one who understands how my brain works, and why things have to be the way they are. (does that even make sense?)
3*
My underwear and bra have to match. I will be uncomfortable all day if they don't. (see weird things matter)
4*
I was a shopper/stylist (costumer) in my previous life. The one where I didn't have my baby yet
5*
I stopped counting my tattoos once I counted fifty
6*
My fiance is quite a bit older than me. Don't let that fool you though, he doesn't act like it
7*
I will have 4 step-kids once I get married
8*
I have driven across the country, coast to coast, five times
9*
I always have my toenails painted
10*
I have a BIG shopping problem. I like to blame it on number four though

Featuring >> FUNKY LEGS

If there is one thing that Scarlett loves to do, without a doubt at anytime of the day, it is to go outside and walk. She loves to watch people, and talk to them. It seems like she is learning so much when we go out to a busy area and walk. She just soaks it up like nothing I have ever seen before. She always has a smile on her face, so in turn I do too.

I can't wait to see her personality grow and flourish. I can already tell she will be such a people person, and a very curious little girl. Which means a lot of questions. ha! I better gear up for that one! We love to get dressed up and go out. Without a doubt every time we put together an outfit and step outside, every other person stops us to tell us how cute her outfit is. Sunday was no exception. This outfit was such a hit. It was because of the shorts and the tights! They are the brand Funky Legs. If you have not heard of them, just take a look at these pictures and read my review below! Funky Legs have become one of our favorites for our key pieces in Scarlett's wardrobe.

Scarlett's Outfit Details
Mini and Maximus-"Duh" Tee
Funky Legs-heart tights
Funky Legs-bow shorts
Minnetonka Moccasins- Fringe Booties

There isn't one thing that I don't like about Funky Legs. I have always had a wonderful experience with the quality of clothing and Miriam (the lady behind it all) it a dream and so kind-hearted! Have you ever had a pair of tights that after one time wearing and washing them, they pile? Or they stretch or end up coming out of the washer just not the same? Well, Funky Legs has solved this problem in our household. These tights last forever! That isn't all they make either. Their shorts are beyond the best. They fit like a dream, and feel just as amazing. They have a couple of other pieces too that do not disappoint. If you know anything about us at Urban Cub, you know how we value quality over quantity.

You can buy Funky Legs in the US at Spearmint Love

My Little Valentine

My daughter is my light, my love, my everything. I couldn't imagine my life without her now that she is in it. She makes my days worth it. She can make even the hardest days, my happiest days.
I never thought that I would have love like this. I never thought I could give love like this. I have been amazed at how Scarlett has changed me. She makes me want to do better, and to live better.

Bri and I were talking about confidence last night. About how we want our daughters to be confident and to believe in themselves. Our society has made it so hard for girls to believe that they are worth it, and to believe that they are amazing no matter who they are. I want to teach Scarlett to love herself and to respect herself, without going overboard with it. It is up to us to teach them all of these things and to surround our girls with strong, confident women. I want Scarlett to see her how I see her. I want her to look in the mirror and see the beautiful soul that I see, and the potential that she has to succeed in the world.

When I think about Scarlett struggling with her self-confidence, it breaks my heart into a million pieces. I want to be the best role model for her and show her how to be a good person, and woman. With lots of prayer and showing her how to love herself, I can only hope that she won't have to struggle with it.

The reason I say this is because of how it comes full circle. With Scarlett being born she made me such a different person, wanting to do/be the best I can be. Then I turn around and teach her how to do/be the best she can be. So because of her I can teach her all of these things.
 She is my biggest blessing.

I hope that you can take your little Valentine and love on them, and start to show them how to really love. By loving themselves.

THIS BRAND >> Raspberry Plum

Play, get messy but always look chic.

A fresh, original kidsswear brand, based in London, for little girls who are fashion conscious, stylish but still love to be carefree children.
The collection was created with the strong belief that girls should be able to play, get messy, run around and still look chic. Our aim is to combine the comfort and practicality of modern fabrics with the class and elegance of vintage childrenswear. Silhouettes are inspired by the 1930s, 40s and 50s, when children’s clothing was still formal.

Gah! This brand has my heart right now! I can't believe I have to wait until FW14 to purchase it.
At least we have these amazing, adorable pictures to look at.
I have already bookmarked Raspberry Plum, so I will keep up to date! I have a feeling that this brand will be one that we should watch out for.

Enjoy it!
