Guest Post >> Molly @mamasault

Hi, there! It's Molly from @mamasault on Instagram.  I'm so excited to be here guest blogging for Bri while they're working on more exciting things for you guys!  With my son, Luck, starting school this year and my love for kids fashion it seems that I have one thing on my mind these days- back to school shopping!  I'm excited for Luck to reach this milestone and can't wait to watch him grow.  So I thought I'd share some of my favorite unisex staples that he'll be taking along with him this year.

Zebra Leggings - Mini Rodini has been one of my favorite brands for Luck over the years.  He practically lives in their leggings and tees. The first drop of their AW14 collection launched and the prints are super fun (as usual). I love that they are comfortable for play and can be mixed and matched with pretty much anything.

Mustard cuffed Leggings - I recently discovered Macarons from Instagram and I am in love with their beautiful classic pieces that kids can wear over and over again. I'm excited to add this brand to Luck's collection.

Teepee Backpack - Who doesn't love teepees? This Cotton On backpack is super cute yet inexpensive and the colors are perfect for both girls and boys.

Maa Shoes - If sneakers should be anything, they should be fun and colorful and this Maa pair is exactly that. These are sneakers that we can pair with everything in Luck's closet which is a huge bonus!

Nine to Nine Deskhouse - This  is the perfect space for Luck to work on learning his numbers, letters, or paint one of his little watercolor masterpieces. I love that little sister, Saint, can sit with him on the other side and that it doubles as a big playhouse! So cute!

Water Bottle - We swear by Lifefactory bottles in our house! We all use them everyday and I was excited to find the flip cap and straw styles that will be perfect for his backpack and lunchbox.

I Love Pretzels and Hotdogs Tee - Pretzels and hotdogs are two of Luck's favorite things. What? Your kids' too? Piccolini is an old favorite! I adore this brand and their tees are something babes will want to wear over and over again.

Tiny Cottons Hat - I can't think of a better combo than stripes and pom poms for a beanie. Tiny Cottons, bravo! I'm looking forward to this one keeping Luck's head warm and toasty.

Lego Lunchbox - Luck was set on this Lego lunchbox from the moment I showed it to him. I'll admit it's very cute and I'm pretty sure it'll be the coolest one at the lunch table.

Fjallraven Backpack - Fjallraven is our favorite backpack!  I bought Luck one a couple of years back and it has definitely stood the test of time. They are perfect for school, traveling, or just a day outing. We love them so much that I've bought him a second just for school. There's no question that I know it will do the job well and if he ever wants another, I'll gladly take it for myself.

Preschool Tee - Hatch for Kids makes all sorts of cute tees, but this preschool tee is everything. It's so simple yet so perfect. They make a "kindergarten" version too!

Pretzel Sweatshirt - When I saw Kira Kids' new Fall collection of pretzels and taxies, my jaw dropped. I knew Luck had to have them. How amazing are the pretzels? Love.

Crewcuts Jacket - No one can ever go wrong owning a field jacket. In fact, I think that each member of the family should have one in the coat closet all hanging in a little row. Luck gets a new one every other season or so and I've never regretted buying the same style year after year. They're a timeless piece that can always be handed down to Little Brother or Sister next. Hand me downs are always a big bonus and are bound to bring back sweet memories. This one from Crewcuts would be perfect for both girls and boys.

Neon-Capped Boots - These Brother Veillies are awesome for any occasion. You can dress them up or down and they are comfortable for little feet. The neon cap toe is on-trend and oh so cute!

Private Eye Tee - Misha Lulu Fall 14 Private Eye collection is hands down one of my favorite lines this season. The prints are adorable and consist of what every little imagination dreams of- Being a secret agent and solving a mystery!  Luck is thrilled with their awesome selection and has requested one of every tee.

Cheers to an awesome school year!

Guest Post >> Shari @unpetitmeow

I'm Shari (@unpetitmeow on instagram). Bri and Britt were so sweet to invite myself and Amelia to guest blog and share our Independence Day style with the readers of Urban Cub.

Everyone already knows how big we like to do things here in Texas, so naturally we felt that Amelia's Fourth of July threads had to be just as explosive as her first fireworks show!

I love mixing patterns and taking fashion risks (life is too short for matching pant suits!) and above all I love supporting handmade. This outfit was all about fun, independence and hand-made American goodness!

Hope everyone has a happy and safe holiday weekend!

Guest Post >> Jill @jilliant

My name is Jill (@jilliant over on Instagram). I have two daughters, Ava who just turned 8 and Cobi who is 20 months old. I was totally flattered when Urban Cub approached me about writing a piece on kids fashion for their blog (thanks ladies!). I truly love fashion and have a wonderful time finding new favorite brands and pieces for both of my girls. I have never considered myself trendy nor worried much about whether their fashion fit a certain mold. I truly see it as a way of expressing one's self on a daily basis and being comfortable while doing it. My Instagram feed is in no way a fashion page- nor do I want it to be. I truly use it as a memorable diary of our day to day and the memories we are making together! I am truly flattered that anyone sees it as a reflection of good taste.

When Ava was younger I had a hard time finding unique pieces that really fit her personality. She is a free spirit; truly vibrant and full of life! I always say she is my little flower child, remnicent of periods in fashion where bell bottoms and crop midriff tops were all the rage. Being 8 years old she really enjoys putting together her outfits that she wears day to day;I let her dress herself for the most part. I feel for an older child that bit of freedom is very important! It allows for her to really express herself the way she wants and how she wants other people to see her. She is also very active so comfort is also a necessity. A typical outfit for her usually contains a lot of color and more often than not, a pair of Toms, Minnetonkas, or her Birkenstock sandals! Some of my favorite brands for her are Neve and Hawk, Anais and I, Wild and Whimsy and Peek. All these brands celebrate individuality, the use of bold color and being unique.

Dressing Cobi has been an adventure in itself. Although young, she is very opinionated about what she wears. Cobi's main concern is comfort over fashion. I never dress her in something restricting or uncomfortable for the sake of fashion. She has a lot of energy and enjoys being outside- whether that means exploring in the forest or being at the horse arena where her sister takes riding lessons. If you follow me on Instagram its pretty obvious that my favorite fashion trend for her is the romper; it can so easily be dressed up or down and is pretty seasonal as it can be worn alone or paired with tights and a long sleeve shirt. I tend to be more attracted to pieces with a classic fit that aren't trendy or seasonal. Mixing vintage pieces in with modern day pieces is a fun way to create a unique look that is not easily replicated. Some of my favorite brands for Cobi are Mabo Kids, Soor Ploom , Goatmilk NYC, and Wolfechild.

A good knit is something I will always invest in. I love that they can become heirloom pieces that can be passed down through generations. Cobi has some fantastic knit sweaters, rompers and shorts that truly are every day pieces. Living in the Pacific Northwest the weather changes frequently and is often cool in the morning even if the afternoon will get warmer. I always have at least one sweater in my purse or car for her to wear. My favorite knit brands are Misha and Puff and Babaa. The craftsmanship is amazing and you can really tell the pieces are made to last a lifetime!

Thank you Urban Cub for the invite! xo Jill

Guest Post >> Style on a Budget

Hi, I'm Jessica, from Tiny Gentlemen, featuring fun boy fashion and dapper style for every little gent!

I am so honored and grateful for the opportunity to guest post on Urban Cub and would like to share some tips for style on a budget. Sometimes I flinch at the high prices of cute clothing that my little guy might not fit next month, and as busy mothers I know we can all appreciate a good steal! Here are some of my favorite places to find the best prices:

Jeans/Shorts

I love H&M jeans because they tend to run big so my son gets more wear and play in them. They have a wide variety of colors and cuts. H&M also has some great picks for suspenders, attached to the jeans and playful cutoff shorts!

Leggings

Get comfortable with Etsy! I look to Etsy for leggings because they each store has a unique style. With all the different stores you can find a steal on the perfect pair. Search for a specific design, color, or fabric, or if you're looking for something organic or hand-stamped, just type in the search! This also helps supports other small businesses!

Shoes

Depending on what shoe you are looking for, I have found that some of the best finds are on Instagram! I am still relatively new to the "shops" on Instagram but so far I have found moccasins for as cheap at $15, Vans for $10, and Toms for $8; all either new with tags or gently used. If I can't find what I'm looking for, I have often been pleasantly surprised by the options at Wal-mart, yes, Wal-mart!

Shirts

My go to for collared button-ups is Target, but I love any fun tee! Keep in mind that on Monday, Target's kid clothing goes on sale. -Every week! (Tuesday is Women's clothing, don't forget!) For tee shirts I'll snag some whimsical prints from the clearance at Children's Place or Old Navy--at $2-$4 a tee it's hard not to buy a couple!

Suit & Tie

Ross and TJ Maxx! Throw your pride out the window and go search for some great deals! Lots of matching sets with vest, shirt, tie and pants, range is anywhere from $8-$16! Or you can check out my other favorite, Black & Bianco. They come with a suit jacket, vest, tie, white shirt and dress pants for as cheap as $20. Fast shipping and great quality! What are some of your favorite places to shop on a budget? Of course, finding great deals takes some digging, but it's definitely worth it. With this broad idea of where to find some great steals, here is an idea of a boy's outfit for less than $25!
Outfit on a Budget
  Monster hat from Wal-Mart, $7 | Children's Place clearance tee, $3 | H&M Chino's $10 | Target Vans look a like $5 |
